Bill Minadeo, from California Skate Parks, has taken up temporary residence at Woodward West. His job: build the new Target Plaza concrete skate park, and he’s doing it in typical March weather in Tehachapi- rain, snow, and fog, but it’s not holding him back. Bill enjoys working on Woodward projects and loves the energy the campers give each site.
Bill grew up playing on his skateboard and even spent time as a sponsored skater “back in the day.” With a degree in landscape architecture from Ohio State and a few other jobs under his belt, such as working for an architectural firm and teaching at Ohio State, Bill began working for California Skate Parks three years ago.
Right now, Bill is working on three Woodward projects; the Target Plaza here at Woodward West, Woodward Beijing, and Woodard Camp in Pennsylvania. He is also involved in building multiple skate parks in New York City, including Manhattan, Long Island, and Pier 62. Each site brings inspiration to the organic flavor in his designs, along with incorporating the desires of each organization building the park.
"The Target plaza at Woodward West is unique in that it features elements found in the streets like rails and hubba's, plus popular features from the parks like banks and euro's"
